MMCA HashTag Project 2022
LostAir <Rave Geometry>
The Rave Geometry presented by Lost Air in <Project Hashtag 2022> is a project that explores the geospatial significance of party spaces within the domestic underground performance scene. The project name is a combination of "Rave," referring to electronic music parties, and "Geometry," implying the mapping of records using LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) sensors.
Through LiDAR sensors, the project aims to shed light on the contemporary underground scene that has often been marginalized or faced operational challenges. It captures party scenes and attempts data-driven spatial collection, with the goal of continuously redefining the word 'party' within the gaze of an ever-evolving audience.
Collaborating with external artists in various ways, the project seeks to complete itself and, in the process, discovers intriguing intersections between art and technology while exploring the expandability of subculture communities.
Joined as guest artist for data visualizing.
Harnessing the power of LiDAR sensors and Kinect technology, I captured interviews and spatial data in unison. Leveraging the capabilities of virtual cameras, I meticulously recreated the interviews, incorporating diverse perspectives to breathe life into the digital realm. Furthermore, through the orchestration of audio-reactive graphics, I transcended the boundaries of digital records, amplifying the sense of presence and immersion, allowing the viewer to experience the authentic ambiance of the original setting.
